A family recipe, carried from Kosovo to Carp
For more than thirty years, the little bakery in the Carp plaza has filled the village with the smell of fresh bread every morning. When the Nuhijaj family took it over, they made one promise: nothing about the recipes would change.
Rexhe and Zoja were bakers for a very long time in Kosovo before bringing their craft — and their five children — to Canada. Today their daughter Valdete leads the bakery, with her sisters Valmira and Valjeta and mom Zoja still in the kitchen, baking by hand the way they always have.
